CreditSights seeks an Analyst to join our Municipal Research Team, based in New York. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in or exposure to the municipal bond market, but muni experience is not necessarily a prerequisite for consideration. Applicants must possess strong numeracy and writing skills and have a demonstrated interest in the capital markets or public finance.
We are looking for a candidate who is a qualified, eager, detail-oriented, self-starter and who thrives when faced with challenging demands and timescales. The candidate should be someone who is looking to develop their skills in identifying, analyzing, and writing about market trends and the impacts on the relative value of key sectors within the municipal bond market.
The candidate will be a part of an established, dynamic, and well-regarded financial services firm and will have the ability to make important contributions quickly, while learning about market dynamics and the structure of the industry.
The position requires the ability to work independently, but also the ability to be a team player who likes to work collaboratively and has the ability to produce high quality work under pressure.
The candidate will be responsible for maintaining surveillance on municipal bond issuers and for assisting the identification of trends that can be used in issuer-level, sector-level and market strategy reports. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining the municipal data and chart libraries and will be expected to learn the main fundamental considerations of key sectors and issuers.

We’ll Count on You To:
Build and update economic and issuer surveillance models.
Interpret and analyze financial statements.
Monitor and interpret bond and other capital market movements.
Prepare presentation materials for clients/attend client meetings.
Have the flexibility to contribute to reports over the weekend.
Contribute to the heavy schedule of analysis and report writing.
What You Need to Have:
We will consider any candidate who demonstrates a high level of competence and motivation, preference will be given to candidates possessing the following qualifications:
Educated to a degree level or equivalent
Strong analytical skills and understanding of financial markets.
Strong proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Some knowledge of accounting and financial analysis
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Highly organized, with a methodical approach to work and excellent attention to detail
What Would Make You Stand Out?
Experience analyzing municipal issuer credit or municipal markets
Degrees in STEM, Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business
Proficiency in Bloomberg and FactSet
Bloomberg API/BQL, Python and/or GPT experience
A passion for financial markets
Capability to produce high-quality outputs under pressure
A team player spirit and an enthusiasm for working collaboratively

FOR NEW YORK ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rate for the role will be $80,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
